What started as an idea to visit one of my best friends whom I've known since elementary school for her birthday in October, turned into 2 weeks of exploring an amazing city. I'd visited Chicago once before some years ago for a few days but this trip was way different.

I went into this trip thinking it would be a good time, didn't realize the impact the city would have on me. 2 months prior I had been laid off from my mortgage job which was an experience in itself, so I figured I'd use this time as a "get-a-way".

This so-called get-a-way ended up becoming another one of those trips I didn't know I needed. From amazing art, great food, new connections, and the ability to go out to a club or party and actually dance with the ladies and embrace the environments we were in. Most nighttime venues these days have become a way to "look cool" or contribute to the social status hierarchy of bottles and sections which is more of a division and separation of people.
The "Windy City" in the fall surely lives up to the name, but don't let that stop you from going outside. Went to my first Chicago Bulls game and as a former athlete, the United Center felt like being in the Hall of Fame. I'm talking Pippen, Jackson, Jordan, 3-peat here, another 3-peat there. I'm from North Carolina in case you don't know and the United Center felt like the REAL building that Jordan built. I don't have any photos to share so you'll just have to take in that experience on your own dime and time.

Speaking of Hall of Fame, I was able to link up with one of my homies Mrlo, and former college teammates whom I had the privilege of winning an NCAA Conference Championship with. Can't say too much but the homie was out there working on a top-secret project and it was good to link up in another state, (again).
Ok, George so what did you actually do? As I write this I really don't remember it was a lot of a little bit and constant moving. I attended a Joe Fresh Goods curated art event, spent a couple nights enjoying live music at Blue Chicago, walked to and from Navy Pier (which were strongest winds I've ever felt on those walks), obviously museum hopped, took in the architecture, club hopped (I don't even go to clubs anymore), had an espresso martini trio at Starbucks, and learned something at the Vacheron shop ("a year ago I didn't even know these _____ exist") - Rick Ross
